Nob Hill Work Party
11/04/2017 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Help maintain trails and remove lunaria and blackberry plants at Nob Hill Nature Park in St. Helens, Oregon. The Scappoose Bay Watershed Council and Friends of Nob Hill Nature Park (NHNP) invite you to join the Fall (semi-annual) volunteer work party on Saturday, November 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. Nob Hill Park is an oak woodland overlooking the Columbia River.
Please bring your own water and snack items. Wear long-sleeve tops, long pants and work boots because there is poison oak at the park. Dress in layers, including rain gear if needed. This work party takes place rain or shine.
Meet at 1 p.m. at the City’s wastewater treatment facility at 451 Plymouth Street. After sign-in, there will be a short park tour before work starts.
Pre-registration is requested by Friday, November 3 by calling Scappoose Bay Watershed Council at 503-397-7904. Or you can e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. This work party is suggested for age 10 and up.
Directions: From Portland, take Highway 30 north, going toward Astoria. At the Wal-Mart in St. Helens, turn right onto Gable Road. Go toward the river. Bear right onto Plymouth Street, and continue bearing right until you see the water treatment facility on the right. There is plenty of easy parking across from the park’s main entrance. For day-of-event information, call 503-349-8586.
