DESCRIPTION:Fall weather appears to be around the corner and we are going to welcome the change in Season by having an Ivy Removal Party over at Godfrey Park this weekend! \nGodfrey Park is one of the little-known hidden gems of St. Helens and though it may be small\, it plays a bigger part of our lives than we may think. For it is both a tiny part of our watershed and a little piece of the natural world where people from far and wide can come and spend time outside. \nSo\, it’s time to give back to this wee area by taking care of the local shrubs and trees that call it home\, continuing the work that we began back in March. \nPlease join us on Saturday October 22 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. We’ll be waiting to spend some time bonding and taking care of our natural world. DESCRIPTION:Let’s keep Nob Hill Nature Park healthy and green!  \n Join Scappoose Bay Watershed Council in partnership with the Nob Hill Nature Park Group on Saturday\, November 5.  This is a family-friendly park project with two times available:  9:00 am – 12:00 noon or 1:00 pm-4:00 pm.   \nOur Work Includes\n\nSpreading mulch around baby plants\nPlanting native plants\nRemoving weeds and invasive species\n\nAddress\nMeet at the Nob Hill Nature Park by the kiosk (across from city’s water treatment plant at 451 Plymouth Street\, in St Helens) at the beginning of the shift time\, 9:00 am or 1:00 pm. \nBe Prepared\n\nBring water and a snack\nWear long sleeve tops\, long pants\, and work boots because there is poison oak at the park\nDress in layers\, including rain gear if needed\n\nEvent Registration\n\nContact Details – emily@scappoosebay-wc.org\n\nThe Scappoose Bay Watershed Council and Friends of Nob Hill Nature Park (NHNP) invite you to join the semi-annual volunteer work party on the first Saturday of November and the first Saturday of April. DESCRIPTION:Please join us at our Native Plant Nursery Sale on October 14\nThe sale offers many native plants\, at great prices\, ready for your landscape. Our Staff and volunteers will be available to help chose plants\, suggest gardening ideas\, and provide information on establishing and maintaining native vegetation. \nThe sale goes from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at our nursery\, located behind Scappoose High School. SUMMARY:Volunteer Work Party at Veterans Park
DESCRIPTION:Join SBWC on Saturday\, March 2nd\, 10am-1pm for our volunteer work party at Veterans Park in Scappoose\, Oregon.\n\n\nThis work party will include moving mulch by wheelbarrow or buckets\, to spread around previously planted trees and shrubs.\nWe will also be daylighting/weeding around the trees and shrubs. By doing this\, it will help make the area look better but most importantly will help the plants we have put in thrive better! *Please read statement near the bottom for this part of our work party*\nVeterans Park is part of an ongoing restoration project between SBWC\, the City of Scappoose\, and in partnership with LCEP.\nPlease come prepared for rainy weather\, boots and raincoats are highly recommended! We will provide all needed tools\, gloves\, as well as water and snacks!\nMeet at the large covered area next to the playground.\n\n*At this volunteer session we will be utilizing clippers and sharper tools\, to be safe we ask that all children under 12 years old be supervised/assisted by an adult. \nPlease RSVP ahead so we can accurately accommodate for everyone that will be there!\nAlso feel free to contact us for any information on this volunteer work party at 503-397-7904. SUMMARY:Volunteer Work Party at Nob Hill Nature Park
DESCRIPTION:Join the Friends of Nob Hill Nature Park and SBWC on Saturday\, April 6th\, 1-3 pm for the semi-annual volunteer work party at Nob Hill Nature Park.\n\n\nNob Hill Nature Park is an oak woodland overlooking the Columbia River. The Friends need help to pull invasive English ivy and put in new plants donated by SBWC.\nDress for the weather\, including rain gear if needed. Please bring gloves\, tools\, water and snack items. This work party takes place rain or shine.\nMeet at kiosk across from city’s water treatment plant at 451 Plymouth Street\, in St Helens.
