DESCRIPTION:Plant trees to enhance native habitat and improve the water quality of South Scappoose Creek in partnership with the Scappoose Bay Watershed Council and the Estuary Partnership. \nSaturday\, February 7th\, 9:30 AM -12:30 PM \nPre-registration is required. \n\n\nAll ages and abilities are welcome. No prior experience is necessary. Please let us know if you need accommodations to participate due to language\, disability\, or other additional needs. \n\n\nYouth age 15 + may volunteer without an adult present. \n\n\nAccessibility: The planting site is near the park’s parking lot. The project area ranges from flat and in grass to muddy and sloped. \nWe’ll provide: Planting gloves\, shovels\, snacks and warm beverages. \nWhat to wear: Long sleeves\, pants\, sturdy sneakers or boots. Dress for the weather: extra layers are helpful. \nWhat you should bring: Water bottle\, sun/raingear. \nSchedule: \n9:30 AM – Check in \n9:45 AM – Introductions\, project orientation\, safety and planting demo \n10:00 AM – Planting native trees and shrubs (taking personal breaks when needed) \n12:20 PM – Wrap up \n12:30 PM – End of event

Meet at the C Street Trailhead (East C Street Rainier\, OR 97048\, next to Riverside Community Church). \nVolunteers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join in this fun and meaningful community effort to care for our local watershed. This event offers a hands-on way to make a difference for Fox Creek. Nob Hill Nature Park is an oak woodland overlooking the Columbia River. \nDress for the weather\, including rain gear if needed. Please bring gloves\, tools\, water and snacks; some also are provided. This work party takes place rain or shine. Meet at kiosk across from the city water treatment plant at 451 Plymouth Street\, in St Helens.
