DESCRIPTION:Fall weather appears to be around the corner and we are going to welcome the change in Season by having an Ivy Removal Party over at Godfrey Park this weekend! \nGodfrey Park is one of the little-known hidden gems of St. Helens and though it may be small\, it plays a bigger part of our lives than we may think. For it is both a tiny part of our watershed and a little piece of the natural world where people from far and wide can come and spend time outside. \nSo\, it’s time to give back to this wee area by taking care of the local shrubs and trees that call it home\, continuing the work that we began back in March. \nPlease join us on Saturday October 22 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. We’ll be waiting to spend some time bonding and taking care of our natural world. DESCRIPTION:Join the Scappoose Bay Watershed Council at the Scappoose Bay Marina while we work to take care of one of the most beautiful marinas in Columbia County! We will be weeding two flower beds\, removing noxious plants from the Scappoose Bay Marina Trails and removing trash from along the waterline! This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy some fresh air and comradery with other members of the community! \nAfter a satisfying morning of work we’ll end with lunch and a relaxing kayak on the bay. \nPlease use this link to RSVP: https://forms.gle/UzLZQnZyg3ewDZYh8 \nPlease wear closed-toe shoes and long plants to avoid poison oak and the thorns on Himalayan Blackberry bushes. DESCRIPTION:SBWC Nursery Volunteer Day\nJoin us at the Scappoose Bay Watershed Council Native Plant Nursery Monday nights from 6-8 PM to help us care for our numerous native trees\, shrubs and flowering plants! \nThere are many tasks that are accomplished each week at the Nursery which may include: \n\nWeeding container plantings\nTransplanting or potting up native plants\nPropagating native plants for our nursery inventory\nFertilizing\, watering and much much more!\n\nIf you are interested in volunteering please contact our Nursery Manager Alex Monroy at (503) 298-5440.
