About Scappoose Bay Watershed Council
We promote & support a healthy watershed.
We work through projects that protect and restore native fish, wildlife, and plants, and by working with the community to educate and encourage participation in enhancing and enjoying their natural surroundings.
Project Restorations
We work with the community to
Educate and encourage participation in initiatives.
Beyond restoration projects, we have put together a list of resources and programs for community members. This includes a checklist of DIY projects you can do.
WE ENCOURAGE ENHANCEMENT OF NATURAL AREAS BY
Educating our community and
offering native plants, shrubs, and trees.
Native Plant Nursery
Our nursery has one of the region’s largest selections of native trees, shrubs, wildflowers, ferns and sedges. Most of the plants go into local restoration projects and some are sold to the public at our plant sales in April and October.
Native plants are essential to our restoration efforts in the Scappoose Bay Watershed as they enhance wildlife habitat and preserve the health of local creeks.
Volunteer Program
We work together with community and student volunteers to cultivate and nurture native species for use in restoration projects, as well as bi-annual plant sales.
Volunteer activities include helping at the nursery, collecting local seeds and cuttings, propagating plants, working at local events and supporting our customers at plant sales.
